Handstand Series: 5 - Controlling the Kickup (12)

The fifth class in the beginner handstand series. We're refining the kickup in this class with an important skill to prepare you to get off the wall - controlling the kickup. We're going to start to minimize momentum by reducing the swing of the top leg -- learning to float up and down with more control. We will practice this against the wall and on an elevated surface. Prop: kitchen towel

Beginner Handstand Series: Build your handstand practice step by step with this short and structured series. You’ll start by learning how to safely cartwheel out, then progress to confident kickups at the wall. From there, you’ll develop strength and control with half tuck drills, first with support and then exploring balance. Each class is just 10 minutes — designed to help you build the foundations of a steady handstand you can grow from.
